DPF/DOC CLEANING

Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) & Diesel Oxidation Catalyst Cleaning (DOC) Services

Diesel particulate filters (DPF) work in conjunction with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) in an exhaust system to reduce emissions and increase fuel efficiency. Both require regular cleaning to remove ash that builds up over time. The DOC uses catalyst to chemically change carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons to carbon dioxide and water.

Exhaust gases route through the DPF, where ash and soot are trapped. Most vehicles using a DPF system will have an onboard filter service monitor to indicate the filter condition and guide your filter cleaning schedule. LD Filtration uses the Donaldson DPF Thermal Regenerator to clean a plugged diesel filter using a high-temperature heating process. It will breathe new life into your diesel emissions system.

Here’s how it works: The DPF and DOC are delivered to our facility (removed from the exhaust system). LD Filtration cleans the filters in our patented cleaning system. The DPF is heated up to harden carbon deposits and other contaminants then the system blows out the particulate via AirKnife. The DPF/DOC are then meticulously inspected, the contaminate removed is weighed and recorded, and the filters are thoroughly cleaned and returned in a refurbished state, sealed in bags. The bake/clean/cool-down alone takes 8-9 hours (plus transit).

Please Note: Our cleaning system is located at our Edmonton facility.
